In my humble opinion there are very few settings or occasions that aren't enhanced by a touch of calligraphy. Be it a wedding, birthday, or anniversary, brightening up a plain wall at home or selecting a meaningful gift for a loved one; calligraphy brings a personal touch that can't be replicated using standard typeface.
